BarkHop Gives Back: Rescue & Advocacy

Rescues often bring in mama dogs and their puppies. This pittie puppy came into rescue with her mama and siblings from the city shelter.
Carol, the rottweiler, is a former mill mama who is waiting at Phoenix Animal Rescue to be adopted.
Macey is a former mill dog from a husky breeder in Pennsylvania. She was rescued by Phoenix Animal Rescue, a non-profit animal rescue that routinely receives calls from puppy mills looking to offload dogs no longer needed.

BarkHop Studio & Rescue Advocacy

Supporting rescue dogs isn’t just part of my pet photography business—it’s part of who I am.

Giving back to the rescue community is where my heart lives. It’s what grounds me, fuels my creativity, and fills my cup. As a dog mom to my own rescued pups, Maizy and Muddy, I know firsthand the journey rescue dogs travel—and the support it takes to bring them home.

At BarkHop Studio, I use my work as a professional dog photographer in Chester County, PA to give rescue dogs the visibility they need through impactful portraits and fundraising events. From calendar contests to gallery wall fundraisers to photos with Santa, every project is designed to make a difference.

Supporting animal rescue is at the heart of BarkHop Studio—every dog deserves a chance to be seen, loved, and remembered.

Photography for Adoptable Pets

Stacey donates professional studio and location photography to help rescue animals shine online. Great photos increase adoption rates and help pets find loving homes faster.

Fundraising Campaigns

BarkHop Studio organizes seasonal photo events, like Santa Photos and Calendar Contests, where funds raised go directly to rescue organizations.

Annual Calendar Contests

Each year, BarkHop Studio hosts a calendar contest where pet parents share their pets' entries and encourage their community to vote. The proceeds support rescue efforts, and the winning pets are featured in a professionally designed calendar—raising both funds and awareness.

Special Projects & Legacy Portraits

Some sessions celebrate the stories of senior or special-needs rescue dogs, capturing their journeys and the deep bond they share with their families. These sessions spotlight the joy and resilience of adopted pets.

Partnership with Local Businesses

BarkHop collaborates with rescue-friendly businessesto host adoption events, donation drives, and awareness campaigns throughout the year.

Social Media Spotlights

BarkHop regularly features adoptable pets and rescue success stories across social channels to help increase visibility and support community-based adoption efforts.

Book Project Campaign

Coming soon: The Dog Parent Project, a book campaign celebrating dog parents and the dogs who changed their lives—with a portion of proceeds benefiting a rescue partner.

Funds Raised and Rescues Supported

Thanks to our incredible community of dog parents and supporters, here’s what we’ve raised together so far for local rescues:

  • Phoenix Animal Rescue 2025 Calendar Contest: $12,000
  • Phoenix Animal Rescue 2026 Calendar Contest: $12,000
  • To Love a Canine Rescue – Gallery Wall Contest with Playtime Pet Resort: $2,000
  • Phoenix Animal Rescue Cookies with Santa & Holiday Market $200
Phoenix Animal Rescue Christmas in July photo shoot: $200
  • Miss Bunny's Menagerie Pet Portrait Day at the Exotic and Small Animal Hospital of Pennsylvania $100

Each dollar raised supports medical care, food, foster resources, and life-saving programs for pets in need. These projects also raise awareness and help connect adopters with deserving rescue animals.
