I'm still winding down from the best holiday fun ever! I hosted the most amazing dogs and their parents last week at the studio for a holiday mini session. The set was larger than life, okay, maybe just larger than a corgi, with huge Christmas lights and a red and green candies big enough to sit a small dog in.
Charlie and Henry were up first, two brothers with very different vibes. Charlie came right into the studio, happy as can be and ready to be friends. His brother, Henry,at just eleven weeks was pure puppy energy. He explored, sniffed, and checked out the studio like he wanted to move in. Watching the two brothers navigate the set together was the sweetest reminder that age doesn’t have anything to do with the holiday magic. I love this photo because to me it's them wondering if they've made the nice list.
Next came Biscotti and Maple dressed to the nines in their holiday sweaters. The second they stepped onto the set with the giant Christmas lights and candy props, their eyes widened and we did a little pivot. Not every pup was as obsessed with the giant Christmas lights as I was lol! But we made it work, captured their personalities and can I tell you I absolutely love their expressions and can totally imagine them asking if I really know Santa ;)
Then there was Little Miss Lilibet. She is the kind of dog who melts into her person with absolute trust- oh that’s a total lie. Lilibet owns the world. Her mom just lives in it and we’re all on the same page, Lilibet ;). Her favorite part was posing for treats and she was totally fine sharing the set with her mom for a photo or two. We asked nicely lol!
Porter and Timber showed up ready to explore. Porter, just seven months old, was full of energy and decided that the studio was the coolest playground he’d ever seen. Timber, the big brother, approached like a seasoned pro, but then he kind of is. His mom brings him for photos every chance she gets to document his life, just like a kid’s. Seriously the best! Both boys were on a sniffari on the set (bonus to being the last pups of the day!). It’s been super cool to see these boys growing up! Their parents brought homemade dog treats and dressed them up for a little holiday fun- Naughty and Nice bandanas followed by classic holiday sweaters. We captured a family photo too! It was a shared holiday experience, this family of four will remember always.
This is why I offer holiday mini sessions every year. It’s not just the photos. It’s the experience. Thirty minutes of joy. A shared experience. Delicious treats for the pups and good memories for the parents.
Holiday Minis at BarkHop Studio are more than portraits. They are a chance to celebrate the dogs who are our whole world and walk away with photos that feel like them.
I already cannot wait for next year!
