A photography book for dogs who were found

Found. a photography book celebrating the stories of dogs who found their way home

Some dogs arrive in our lives through dramatic circumstances, while others simply walk in and quietly become part of everything. However they come to us, every dog carries a story of becoming, and that is what the Found. book project is about.

Found. is a fine art photography book created by BarkHop Studio to celebrate the journeys of dogs and the lives they step into. Through custom studio portraits and written storytelling, this project preserves the moments, both big and small, that define who a dog is and how they found their place in the world. And it is an opportunity for dog parents who value artwork to tell their dog’s story in a way that will let is live on the walls and in the spaces they call home.

This book is for dog parents who believe their dog’s story matters and who want to preserve that story in a tangible, lasting way.

What the Found. Project Is

The Found. book project will feature the stories of 30 dogs. Each selected participant receives a full BarkHop Studio portrait experience and a two page feature inside the published book. These sessions are intentionally thoughtful and unhurried, allowing each dog to be photographed in a way that reflects their personality, presence, and spirit. The portraits created during these sessions become the foundation not only for the book, but also for meaningful artwork that participants can enjoy in their homes for years to come.

Every experience begins with a conversation about how you found your dog (or how they found you). We talk about how they came to join your family, what makes them who they are, and the moments of their past that shaped their life. From there, you and your dog will enjoy a relaxed and low-key studio experience.

After the session, we meet again over a video call or in the studio to view the portraits, finalize your dog’s written story for the book, and design custom artwork for your home. This is where many clients find the experience especially meaningful, as they begin to see their dog’s story take physical form through wall art, albums, and other heirloom pieces created specifically for their space. Two portraits from your session are carefully chosen to represent your dog’s story inside the pages of Found.

Who This Project Is For

This project is for dog parents who look at their dog and know there is more to their story than what a single photo could ever say. You do not need a dramatic rescue background to participate. You simply need a dog whose journey feels meaningful to you and worth remembering, and a desire to preserve that story through artwork you can live with and pass down.

Some dogs arrive after long searches, some through shelters or rescues, and some through quiet moments of choice and connection. All of those paths belong in this book.

Supporting GoodBoy Dog Recovery

A core part of the Found. project is the impact it creates beyond the pages of the book. A portion of each project participation fee and one hundred percent of book sales will benefit GoodBoy Dog Recovery, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reuniting lost dogs with their families and helping dogs find safety.

GoodBoy uses advanced tools such as thermal drone searches, feeding stations, and years of field expertise to locate missing dogs and guide them back to safety. Their work is patient, careful, and often life saving. Through this project, your dog’s story also helps support other dogs who are still finding their way home.

How to Apply

Applications for Found. are now open, and participation is limited to 30 dogs. Each application is reviewed with care to ensure the final book reflects a thoughtful and diverse collection of stories. Applying does not guarantee acceptance, and selected applicants will be contacted with full project details and scheduling options, including guidance on creating custom artwork for their homes.

Why This Matters

One day, the photographs we have of our dogs will become the way we remember them. Found. exists to honor the life each dog lived, the path they walked, and the place they claimed in our homes and hearts. The artwork created from this experience becomes a daily reminder of that story, long after the session and long after the book is printed.

If your dog’s story feels like it belongs in these pages and on your walls, I would love to read your application.

With wishes for a year full of dog drool and sweet memories,

Stacey
