Pet Business Branding and Dog Portraits in Chester County, PA: A Studio Session with Maddie’s Castle

A New Chapter at Maddie’s Castle (With the Same Heart)
If you’re a local dog parent in Phoenixville or the Chester County area, you’ve probably heard of Maddie’s Castle—a neighborhood pet shop known for its community roots, commitment to rescue, and genuinely welcoming vibe.
Now, there’s a new face behind the counter: Lindsay Olivier, and honestly, it couldn’t be a better fit.
Lindsay recently stopped by BarkHop Studio for updated branding photos to introduce herself to the community. Naturally, her pups, Roxy and Molly, came along too. We captured headshots, portraits, and a few sweet moments that reflected who Lindsay is—both as a dog mom and a small business owner.
From Real Estate to Rescue-Fueled Retail
Lindsay made a bold and inspiring shift—leaving the world of real estate to take over ownership of Maddie’s Castle, a place she felt deeply aligned with. She didn’t build the brand from the ground up, but she stepped in with the same values and vision as the original owner: a focus on community, rescue support, and offering high-quality treats, toys, and products for her customers' pets.
If you haven't stopped by the shop- go! You'll see exactly what I mean.
Lindsay has continued to make homemade doggie ice cream, keeps the shop stocked with tried and true treats (just ask Roxy and Molly), and is always sourcing new and exciting pet products that reflect what her customers are asking for. She's hosted rescue adoption events, opened her doors for community outreach, and continues to collaborate with other small pet businesses, like BarkHop Studio. She’s shown up again and again to support what matters most—rescue animals, small businesses, and her neighbors.
And yes—Maddie the cat, the shop’s namesake and queen, still holds court from her perch on the counter. Because Lindsay understood right away that some things shouldn’t change.
A Familiar Face With a Big Heart
Lindsay is no stranger to rescue life. Her dog Roxy was adopted from Phoenix Animal Rescue, the same organization she has volunteered with and continues to support through events, partnerships, and daily advocacy. She’s truly someone who lives her values—kindness, connection, and doing right by animals—and you feel that the second you walk into Maddie’s Castle.
It was an honor to photograph Lindsay, Roxy, and Molly at my Chester County pet photography studio. Lindsay knew she needed to introduce herself through photos so Maddie's Castle followers could connect with her before even stepping foot and paw in the shop. Having the opportunity to help her tell her story through branding photos was so much fun! These sessions are always about more than headshots- they’re about capturing the heart behind the business.
Small Business, Big Community Impact
Whether you’re a fellow dog mom, a pet business owner, or someone who loves supporting woman-owned businesses here in Chester County and the Philadelphia suburbs, Lindsay’s story is one to follow. She’s continuing the Maddie’s Castle legacy while making it her own—and doing it all with a heart focused on community.
If you haven’t met her yet, stop by Maddie’s Castle in Phoenixville, say hello to Maddie the cat, and let Lindsay recommend a new treat your dog will love. And while you’re there, check out a few of our dog portraits on display in the shop
